surviving summer

it's summer time. so i should be walking around in high pants to cover my mommy pooch and prancing on the beach with my daughters.
instead we are sweltering inside our house feeling sorry for ourselves.
but hey, at least we have a/c. or at least, an a/c unit that is trying. it gets a b- for at least trying.

on my to do list is to watch our all time favorite summer movies.
starting off with our all time favorite:

rear window
ty and i have watched it hundreds of times. such a classic.
another favorite:

something about those sweltering southern nights and rod steiger chewing his gum like that.
"they call me mr. tibbs!" is it just me or is sidney poitier smoking hot?

and last but not least:
it's worth it just to drink in paul newman for 90 minutes.
classic faulkner. if you like the writing, definitely check out some more of him.

these movies go perfect with the lights off- fan blowing- a tall glass of ice cold water and fresh popped popcorn.

enjoy.

what are some of your favorite summer movies?

I'm probably going to get beat up for saying this but... I don't love old movies. YIKES, ok I said it! But hmmmm, I think I could handle "The Long Hot Summer." What a tagline! ;)

Oh my where to begin, I LOVE old movies. Ones that I have watched recently; An Affair to Remember, To Catch a Thief, Father Goose, 13 Ghosts. That's just a few of the very many I enjoy.

Every summer without fail I watch all the Rocky movies (excluding Rocky 5) with special effort made to watch Rocky 4 on the 4th of July.
Doesn't get more patriotic than that.

I hadn't seen the last two, I'm thinking I will have to remedy that. Who couldn't use a little Paul Newman on a hot summer night?
