and it begins...the ebb of new students driving into town in the middle of the night. their honda civics packed with rubbermaids and linens stuffed to maximum capacity. new freshmen, that look like they are seriously 14 years old, and their cute parents taking tours; trying to learn about the 'pallet zone' , navigating their way through crowds at the cougareat and jamming up into lines to get their starving student cards.
gone are the days of empty sidewalks and vacant testing centers, a trickle of traffic and only 5 minute waits at the creamery. now, we are stuck here for the long haul of fall semester; thank goodness for the holidays. i can't wait to break out the halloween decor.

I loved the beginning of Fall. Nothing better than spending all your savings on books at the bookstore! :) Seriously though, it's such a good place to be. I hope you're enjoying it.
The creamery sounds sooooo good right now! :)
So true! Joseph was getting his books yesterday and just came home laughing b/c of all the freshmen. He said that they have one of 3 looks: they either look like scared little mice, they have a dazed and confused how-did-i-get-here-and-where-do-i-go-now look, or they've got a smug free at last, free at last, thank god almighty i'm free at last look of independence. I can't imagine that I was ever that young! My baby sister is one of them this year which is soooo weird! Good times good times. Good luck this new semester/school year! Let's get together again while our hubbies are at class soon!
I miss it...I really really miss it...
Annie! Wow doesn't it bring back memories to even be near campus this time of year, today I dropped Jordan off for his 8 o'clock class on my way to work (of his final semester hallejuah!) and I remembered nostalgically all those early morning scamperings with tons of books and huge dance bag to boot.... I must have looked like I was a homeless person carrying all my belongings around with me! Anyway now that the summer has completely slipped away lets plan something for fall! We need to get together!
