i even prepared ahead. the girls started getting ready at 7:15 for crying out loud. but were we still rushed? of course we were. and phoebe DID NOT like her blessing dress very much and decided to barf all over it. we managed to get out the door only to find SNOW all over everything and my parents peeling out on our street. thank goodness sarah came up right at that moment and rescued them. we had multiple family members brave death out on the unplowed and roads. but we actually made it early. if that's not amazing i don't know what is. we sit down, my blood pressure starts to lower and...no binky. what? how could i forget that? again, sarah saved my tuchus and went and got it for us. and just when things start to settle down i feel a lump in my tights. what could that be stuck on my knee? a dryer sheet. yup, i sat through 3 hours of church with a dryer sheet stuck in my stockings. c l a s s y.
but all that matters is that phoebe elise leavitt was blessed today. december 6th 2009. and her blessing was beautiful. and although many family members, friends, and loved ones weren't able to be there with us we felt loved, we felt grateful, we felt blessed.
and today i am very grateful for all that i have been given.
because the trials and hard times make days like this much, much sweeter.
